Etna, rising on the east coast of Sicily, is a massive stratovolcano known as one of the most active volcanoes in the world and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Nunziata di Mascali is a settlement on the mountain's eastern flank, offering a wide view up toward the summit area.
