Ordu – Çambaşı Ski Resort live cam

Published by Ordu Metropolitan Municipality, this camera looks out over the ski centre on the Çambaşı plateau in Kabadüz district, about 54 km inland from the city of Ordu. The slopes sit at roughly 2,000 metres, an unusual altitude to reach so quickly from the Black Sea coast. The Çambaşı live webcam is a handy way to check snow cover before setting off.

A summer pasture turned ski area

Çambaşı has long been a yayla, a high summer pasture. The plateau covers around 100,000 decares and holds 72 small hamlets, and its population swells each summer when families from coastal towns come up to escape the heat. Work on the ski centre began in 2010, and its administration building, social facilities and cafeterias opened in 2017. Pistes are laid out for different ability levels and served by a cable lift; snowboarding and sledding are also possible.

Snow and seasons

Snow can pile up to three or four metres deep in winter. Check the Çambaşı weather separately from Ordu's: rain on the coast often means fog or a blizzard up on the plateau. Once the snow melts, the area switches to meadows, trout farms, picnic spots and a plateau market.

Getting there

An asphalt road runs from Ordu via Kabadüz to the plateau, and minibuses connect it with the city. In winter carry chains or fit winter tyres and drive slowly on the final, often icy stretch. Early morning is a good time to watch the slopes being prepared.
