The Namib Desert stretches along Namibia's Atlantic coast and is regarded as one of the oldest deserts in the world. Known for its towering red dunes, gravel plains and rocky mountains, it is a harsh landscape whose animals have adapted to life where water is extremely scarce.

This NamibiaCam live stream shows a waterhole in the desert, where you can watch desert wildlife such as oryx and springbok, ostriches and jackals come to drink. Animals are usually most active in the cooler hours of early morning and late afternoon. Sunrise and sunset, when the desert glows in warm colours, are especially beautiful.
