Palandöken – Ejder 3200 Lift B live cam

This Palandöken live cam covers the upper lift line, known as Lift B, at the Ejder 3200 ski area above Erzurum, with the chairlift climbing towards the summit and the steeper pistes beneath it. The feed is published by Erzurum Metropolitan Municipality. Unlike the gentle base area served by Lift A, the terrain here narrows, altitude gains quickly and the snow surface shows the wind far more clearly. This is the sector that advanced skiers head for.

The line to the summit

Palandöken's top station is quoted at between 3,140 and 3,176 metres, and with close to 1,000 metres of lift-served vertical, one of Türkiye's longest descents begins up here. The Ejder run on the mountain's northern face is described as the steepest piste in the country; together with Kapıkaya it forms two Olympic-length runs suited to slalom and giant slalom. The pistes around Lift B make up most of the difficult terrain, roughly a third of the whole network. Alpine and snowboard events of the 2017 European Youth Olympic Winter Festival, six years after the Winter Universiade, were held on these upper slopes and at neighbouring Konaklı.

Wind, fog and visibility

Because the upper lift approaches the open ridge, it is the part of the mountain most exposed to weather. On days of strong wind the top lifts may open late or close early for safety, and when the cloud base drops only a few pylons remain visible. Season notes

The upper pistes are most reliable between January and March, when the snowpack is deepest; in some years snow holds on the high ground into May. On winter days that drop to minus twenty, wind chill on the upper line bites much harder than at the base, so face protection and layered clothing are a necessity rather than a detail.
