The Khedive's Palace (Hıdiv Kasrı) stands on the Çubuklu hills in Istanbul's Beykoz district and was built for Abbas Hilmi Pasha, the last Khedive of Egypt. With its Art Nouveau-influenced architecture, tower and wooded grounds, it is regarded as one of the most elegant buildings on the Bosphorus. Today the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality runs it, and its garden is open to visitors.
This camera shows the palace garden and the Bosphorus view. Spring, when flowers fill the garden and the woods turn green, offers the loveliest scenes. Clear days bring out the blue of the strait, and fog or snow create a different mood.
